About the Maker
Scorpion Knives are manufactured by Samuel Staniforth, a company founded in 1864 in Sheffield, England and steeped in the tradition of producing the highest quality knives for professional users. Scorpion Knives are used in the deserts, jungles and urban environments of the world by both military, tactical forces and survivalists, as well as being highly sought after by knife enthusiasts and serious collectors.
I took an interest in knives, swords, and other unique creations in my early childhood years. I've always been drawn to difficult things and avoided those things that are easy or boring. I work as a Technical Architect and enjoy things that go fast and/or make loud noises. I hold a National Record as a competitive shooter. I have collected knives for years and in 2013 decided to do design collaboration work and now have over 10 designs either in production or completed. I enjoy most anything outdoors and appreciate all things hand-crafted.
Mike has been making knives since 1978 and is a full time knifemaker. Mike is very well known and respected for his linerlock folders, which typically feature damascus steel and natural handle materials such as pearl and ivory. Mike also makes lockback folders and hunting knives.
